An Afternoon in 's Hertogenbosch
Hidden below the old city is a canal network called the Binnendieze it used to be 22 kilometres long. It started out as a regular river, the Dommel, running through the city in medieval times but because there was not enough space in the city, people started building their houses and roads over the river.
In recent decades, the remaining six of the old waterway systems has been renovated, and it is possible to take a guided boat trip through it.
